Clarifications from ACS in relation to ACSO Code: 2231-79

We have contacted the Australian Computer Society in relation to the recent MODL announcement (dated 15 December 2005) and the inclusion of occupation of Computing Professionals, ASCO Code: 2231-79, with five specialisations.
The ACS has clarified the following:
-
To be eligible for the MODL points - ACS must specify in their letter that you meet the requirements for one of the five specialisations.
-
In order to meet the specialisations, ACS requires a minimum of 12 months work experience specifically in that specialised field. Recent graduates without work experience would not meet this requirement.
-
The MODL categories will only be considered on or after 15 December 2005. This means that anyone with a current ACS assessment, who thinks they meet the requirement for the specialisation and have relevant work experience, will need to lodge a new application for skills assessment with ACS.
